The classic TV sounds of the
50's and 60's come to life on That's So Retro with Kurt Anderson and Peter Stafford Wilson (or your local conductor).
Kurt Anderson, host and co-conductor with Peter Stafford Wilson, treats your audience to
an evening of music showing the fun-filled, romantic and elegant side of the 50's and 60's with his father Leroy Anderson's
Syncopated Clock, Henry Mancini's Pink Panther and Herb Albert's Tijuana Brass. There are musical tributes with the
classic sounds of Western Movies, Music from Sit-Coms, Frank Sinatra, TV Cartoon Music, Mary Poppins and the Sound of Music.
There are video segments before many of the works and while the music plays there are still images that help take
us to another time and place. Kurt Anderson introduces segments with his father talking about the music before it is
performed.
This is complete themed show with the conductor in period dress, retro TV ads and a "Name That Tune" audience
participation game - with the prize a box of Cracker Jacks! The
custom arrangements and music are all bowed and ready to go.
This concert is very affordable and very
fun!

Kurt Anderson / Peter Stafford Wilson
We were delighted with the artistic and the financial
outcome of That's So Retro with Kurt Anderson. Attendance beat our goal and those who attended talked about the concert
for days. I overheard someone say that they'll remember this concert forever because its the night that the
Erie Philharmonic played the theme from the Flintstones live! Eric Borenstein Executive Director Erie Philharmonic
I did not know a stitch about
Leroy Anderson, but as it turns out I knew more than I ever thought about his music. I went to the "That's So Retro"
show at the Warner Theater in Erie PA, on 2/16/08.
How nice to see a father so honored by his son. Kurt did a great job.
The show was great. I have a new found respect for Leroy and his body of work.
